DINING TABLE OVERHAUL

My husband Joel had to go away for a week training camp for work in Milwaukee around March last year. I hate being away from him, so naturally I needed to find a project to work on! I bought this cherry and brown leather dining set about 3 years ago. It was all solid wood and still in amazing shape. I decided I wanted to go with a more clean/updated look. I achieved the matte black look by using chalkboard black paint. It took about three coats with one of those sponge paint brushes but it came out really nicely, very minimal brush strokes. It took about an hour for each coat to dry. For the seats I ordered some upholstery fabric from Jo Ann's fabric online. It was on massive discount, and only cost me about $40 I think. I actually had enough to do all six chairs and my headboard and I STILL have extra! I used my own Stanley staple gun to affix the fabric to the chairs and then just screwed them back on. It really took me a Saturday/Sunday weekend to finish. Then I had to tackle painting the room, and we did eventually swap out the ceiling fan. I think this simple fix made my dining set look like a million bucks!
