Life Update

Hi Everyone! The past couple of months have gone by so quickly and so slow at the same time. People who have had children often say the days are slow but the years are fast. I think this statement couldn't be more true. On July 8th, 2017 we were blessed with our first baby boy. I was very fortunate throughout my entire pregnancy just to have had a healthy pregnancy and baby, but also the fact that I never got any "morning sickness" or swelling (I know!). The worst part of the whole pregnancy/labor experience really was my ninth month of pregnancy. Our baby boy had decided he was comfortable hanging out low the whole time and once we hit the ninth month he picked my right hip to lodge himself into. We paid to do one of those fancy 3D ultrasounds, and the tech had a hell of a time getting pictures of him because he wouldn't move out of my hip. That whole last month I spent on our couch pretty much because walking was so painful. I am very much a mover and a shaker, and I am constantly trying to keep myself busy so this was doubly annoying.. I couldn't relax because I was uncomfortable, and I also couldn't walk around to get my mind off the pain! Anyway, labor started very quickly and he was in my arms within about 7 hours from start(at home) to finish.

Since he has been here, our lives have changed quite a bit. We were always pretty much home bodies but this really took it to a whole new level haha! Very quickly we learned there would be no more running up to the store for a few items. I order everything online and we only go to the grocery store once a week now. I had done a lot of freezer meal prepping beforehand and stocking up on household items and pet food.

While he takes up all of my time, every second is worth it. Now he is 2.5 months old and every time we get a smile or an attempted giggle out of him the world just stops. I want to freeze time in those moments and be able to revisit them but I know that I can't. One of our good friends got us a really cool baby book (https://www.amazon.com/Pleased-Meet-You-Baby-Journal/dp/1452153507) that I try to fill out as much as possible and I am so glad I have it. It has places to put photos along the way, and mark milestones that you just don't want to forget.

No worries though, we are currently remodeling our fireplace and I will have that to add to the blog very soon! I also will be putting up our guest bathroom that we remodeled a few months ago since it is finally complete!
